The Heritage Trust has just commissioned a light and sympathetic restoration of the 401/403 buck we bought at the Windlesham debacle.
It is made from hardwoods and marine ply. Every aerodyne of this style was made upon it, using the English wheel and incredibly skilled gas welding by the coachbuilders.
We are hoping that it will have a place in a major museum display (watch this space for more info). And it would be really wonderful if it was used one day for a “working exhibit” to rebuild a 401/3.

An amazing piece of craftsmanship! Delighted that it is in good hands. Will you be taking off the loft lines and placing the in a blue for our collective enjoyment?

We intend to obtain and make available all the plans, drawings and blueprints from the very start of the Bristol car project.
Digitisation would be a huge project, but all our bucks are, or will be, publicly accessible for reference – and one is already being used to replicate a 404 rear wing.
And please do get in touch if you would like to take any scans, drawings or measurements from the 401/3 buck.
